Established since 1997, Team Teach develops and delivers accredited, award-winning training in positive strategies for managing behaviour. Our team is dedicated to advancing awareness and understanding of the power of positive behavioural strategies to transform outcomes for children and adults, and foster positive relationships.
The foundation of Team Teach is our network of trainers led by our Principals, who have extensive knowledge and experience of delivering positive behaviour management training across a variety of sectors. They are supported by a large team of Senior, Assist and Employer trainers across the UK and Internationally.
Jonathan Newport
Global Managing Director
Jonathan is an educator with over 25 years’ experience. His work in SEND schools has been commended by the DfE. He’s a highly-respected speaker and trainer who is recognised internationally for his work on developing and supporting positive behaviour, ethos and culture.
Olivia Walsh
Managing Director (Commercial)
Olivia is a highly motivated, ambitious and successful education and training specialist. As Managing Director, Olivia looks after the commercial side of the Team Teach and leads the strategy to bring Team Teach to more individuals and teams in education, health and social care, adults and children’s services’ settings and beyond. Prior to joining Team Teach, Olivia previously worked in education recruitment for over 13 years across the UK and internationally.
Jenny Maxwell
Managing Director (UK)
Following 16 successful years in education recruitment and providing schools with highly qualified teaching and support staff across the UK, Jenny recently joined Team Teach to head up the business development team. Jenny also has a background in youth work and working in dementia homes, she has been a Team Teach Intermediate trainer for four years and has passion for promoting and delivering Team Teach across many organisations within education, health and social care, and children’s and adults’ services sectors.
Jill Morley
Operations Director
Highly-experienced in Operations, Jill joined Team Teach in 2018 from a fast-growing project and programme management company, having previously worked for a firm of financial, actuarial and business consultants. Prior to this, Jill spent over six years working in the commercial aviation industry.
Harshil Patel
Management Accountant
Harshil has over 10 years in Financial Services working in a variety of commercial roles from Business Manager to Product Manager. Before joining Team Teach Harshil worked as a finance specialist for Empowering Learning building on his finance and commercial experience previously gained in financial services.
Azam Mohammed
Group CEO
Azam is a highly experienced and innovative CEO with an extensive and successful track record in the education sector. He has worked in supporting education services for almost 20 years, building successful education recruitment and training businesses. In addition to Team Teach, he runs two of the most established, well known and well-respected education recruitment consultancies in the UK.
James Webber
Group CFO
James has significant experience in senior leadership, M&A and Private Equity having served as Group CFO/COO at three international recruitment groups (one a publicly listed group) and as Managing Director of a Training and Leadership Consultancy. Prior to working in Industry, James gained eight years of Big 4 professional services experience (with Deloitte and EY) and was voted by The Financial Director as one of the brightest 35 talents in business under 35.
David Ivell
Group CPTO
David has held a number of high profile technology leadership positions as CIO, CTO and CDO with IBM, Credit Suisse, The British Film Institute, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and The Prince’s Trust before joining Team Teach as their first Chief Product & Technology Officer. Pioneering innovation with social purpose, David is leading a talented team to further enhance our understanding of children’s behaviour through advances in data science.
George Matthews
Founder & Chairman Emeritus
George was a teacher with 20 years’ experience in mainstream and special educational needs schools when he founded Team Teach. Following being awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 1996 – where George visited the USA to observe and return with best practice on how adults safely manage children’s anger and aggression – he’s worked to promote positive behavioural strategies both in and beyond the education sector, in the UK and internationally.
